YATAGARASU SELVEDGE - Strong Guy 15 oz

Strong Guy from Naked & Famous is a classic selvedge jean made from Japanese denim, woven on traditional shuttle looms. This production method produces the distinctive selvedge edge and a dense, durable denim that develops distinct fades over time.

The denim weighs 15oz, making it medium to heavy compared to classic raw denim. The fabric is made of 100% cotton and will gradually mold to your body with use.

The Strong Guy fit features a high waist, ample room in the seat and thighs, and a straight leg with a wide leg opening. The result is a relaxed, classic silhouette inspired by traditional workwear jeans.

The denim fabric is woven in Japan, while the jeans are cut and sewn in Canada.

About denim fabric

Yatagarasu Selvedge is a 15oz Japanese selvedge denim inspired by Yatagarasu , the mythological three-legged raven from Japanese Shinto tradition that symbolizes guidance and direction.

The denim has a black sulfur-dyed warp that gives a deep, rich black tone from the start. Underneath lies a natural white weft , and the contrast between these threads becomes more visible as the jeans are worn. As the black color gradually wears down, the light weft thread will create distinct high-contrast fades that make each jeans develop a unique expression.

The yarn is spun with short, slightly uneven fibers that give the denim a subtle texture and more depth to the surface over time.
