Dirty Fade Selvedge is a 14.5 oz Japanese selvedge fabric woven on traditional shuttle looms in a right-hand twill construction. What sets this fabric apart from standard denim is the yarn: instead of chalk-white cotton as a base, a yarn with a natural beige-brown core is used, which is dyed with indigo via the rope dye method.
This dyeing technique has been a favorite among denim enthusiasts for over a decade, precisely because it gives jeans a unique character that only reveals itself after months of wear. While regular denim fades to white at wear points, the fading on Dirty Fade reveals a warm, earthy undertone – hence the name. Over time, the jeans develop a rustic, vintage-inspired look that is entirely unique to your specific wear patterns.
