Olve wool sweater – 100% natural Norwegian wool – Grey/Natural white – Tingvoll Ull

Olve is a patterned tribute to Norwegian coastal culture and traditional seafarer craftsmanship. Designed by Ingun Grimstad Klepp, this is a sweater created to withstand harsh weather, offering maximum insulation and timeless aesthetics.

The Olve sweater is the result of a collaboration between Tingvoll Ull and the local coastal society, with a desire to interpret the cultural heritage of the coast through knitwear. The pattern is a modern interpretation of the classic "Icelandic sweater," based on motifs from a 1925 knitting book. This variant comes in a delicate and classic combination of grey and natural white. Like all garments from Tingvoll Ull, only the sheep's natural colours are used, completely free of chemical dyeing or bleaching.

The sweater is knitted from 100% natural, untreated Norwegian wool sourced directly from local farmers. Norwegian wool is known for its exceptional resilience and durability, and since the wool is untreated, it retains its natural fat content (lanolin). This makes the sweater naturally self-cleaning, odour-repellent, and capable of insulating even when damp. The fit is a roomy unisex model suitable for both women and men. The entire value chain is local: the wool is washed on the farm, spun at Selbu Spinneri, and knitted on Tingvoll Ull's own machines.
