Dungaree Nep Denim – Wide Wild West

Wide Wild West is a tribute to the pioneering era and the raw texture found in denim before the industry became streamlined. Weighing only 9.7oz, this is a light and airy summer denim, but don't let the weight fool you – it's packed with character and an extremely uneven surface.

What makes this fabric special is its coarse 2x1 nep construction. By using shorter cotton fibers that naturally clump together during spinning, you get a fabric with small white "neps" (cotton knots) sticking out from the mid-indigo surface. This creates a texture reminiscent of hand-woven fabric from the late 1800s, and generates a visual depth rarely found in modern, smooth denim.

Authentic 2x1 Weave

Unlike most modern jeans that use a 3x1 weave, Wide Wild West uses a 2x1 weave. This is a simpler and more traditional weaving method used for lighter workwear "back in the days."
